My psychoanalytic approach is best summed up by an Ogden quote: “It requires two minds to think a person’s most disturbing thoughts.” In my work I invite patients and supervisees to experience emotional states and think thoughts that would be too scary to consider on their own. Then we take it from there. Or one could say with the words of the poet, Antonio Machado: "Walker, there is no path. The path is made by the walking." I have been practicing for 30 years. I see patients, do training analyses; I supervise; I teach; I truly appreciate the variety.
