There is no simple formula for helping people but there are necessary elements: an atmosphere of safety and respect, and openess to and curiosity about the uniqueness of each person. Therapy is essentially a series of conversations in which you and I create meaningful solutions to problems and difficulties in living, The opportunity provided by therapy for greater self awareness allows people to stop self-defeating behavior and destructive patterns of living and to get on with making the best use of their time and talents. I see adults, adolescents and couples. I am experienced working with a variety of issues including intimacy, depression, anxiety, trauma,cults, learning difficulties, sexual problems, work and creative inhibitions. I bring an array of training and experience to my work: relational psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral techniques, knowledge of Buddhist and other meditation traditions, family systems theory and couples counseling.
