I'm a psychoanalyst specializing in matters related to gender, the body, sexuality, and relationships of all kinds, but I consider myself a generalist dedicated to alleviating suffering. Many people come to me when they are struggling with anger, beset with anxiety, experiencing a disconnect from their feelings, or simply sense that something needs to change. I treat children, adolescents, and adults in person and virtually. I’m actively involved in the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis where I am Chair of the Sexuality and Gender Initiative and co-chair of the Colloquium Committee. I also teach at the National Training Program in Contemporary Psychoanalysis and the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research. My essay, “Mask Up: Identifying Anger in Gender and Racial Formations,” was awarded the 2023 Symonds Prize and was published in Studies in Gender and Sexuality. My writing has also appeared or is forthcoming in The New Inquiry, The Ersatz Experience, and Autotheory and Its Others. My teaching and writing connect me to the current discussions in the field and enrich the therapeutic work I undertake with my patients.
