I have been in practice for over 35 years, working with both adults and children, and I continue to find the work exciting and rewarding. My training is as an interpersonaI psychoanalyst; I came to social work and then psychoanalysis after an academic background in linguistics and art history, a brief career in graphic design, and several years living in Japan, and I think those experiences have enriched my analytic sensibilities. I work with people from many different backgrounds, ethnicities, and socioeconomic levels, as well as with a wide variety of problems in living. I also teach and supervise candidates and others in the mental health fields, and remain active in the running of Manhattan Institute.
